Brooke & Hunter’s Islamorada Resort Wedding
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Florida Keys, Brooke and Hunter celebrated their wedding day surrounded by family, friends, and the relaxed beauty of island life. Their vision combined timeless wedding details with coastal elegance, creating a celebration that felt intimate, romantic, and effortlessly refined from beginning to end.
Their chosen venue, La Jolla Resort, also offered the best of both worlds - the ability to host a beachfront ceremony, followed by an elegant garden reception all within the same space. If you've been dreaming of an elegant garden wedding in Islamorada, consider this your sign.
It is with joyful & grateful hearts that Brooke and Hunter officially tied the knot after finding their forever in one another. The couple first met in Mrs. Brinkman’s third grade class in the Florida Keys, but life eventually pulled them in different directions when Hunter moved back to Wyoming. For years, their paths didn’t cross, proving that what is meant to be will always find its way back.
Hunter returned to the Keys during COVID-19 to help with the family business, and Brooke happened to be back home as well. Their first date was a slow cruise through the islands, where they exchanged childhood memories while enjoying takeout from what would later become their favorite restaurant in the Keys. During a trip to Kauai, Hunter got down on one knee and proposed to Brooke, marking the beginning of forever together.
GETTING READY AT LA JOLLA RESORT
The morning of the wedding, Brooke and her bridesmaids settled into their charming waterfront villa, and honestly, it sets the tone perfectly for the day ahead! Airy, luxurious and peaceful is how I would describe this morning with soft natural light, palm trees swaying nearby, and the calm atmosphere The Keys is widely known for. Brooke’s hair was styled by Elaine Hampson and her makeup flawlessly executed. The result? A radiant bride who glowed effortlessly as she was about to marry her person. Meanwhile, Hunter and his groomsmen enjoyed a relaxed morning complete with plenty of laughs and a few Busch Lights along the way.
BROOKE’S FIRST LOOK WITH HUNTER
One of the most emotional moments of the day was Brooke and Hunter’s first look. Hunter waited tucked within the tropical gardens of the resort, as Brooke made her way toward him, her lace veil and bridal train trailing behind her.
As Hunter turned around to see Brooke for the first time, the emotion on both of their faces said it all. It was such a meaningful pause in the middle of the day that allowed them to enjoy a semi-private moment together and soak everything in before officially saying “I do” surrounded by their closest friends and family.
A BEAUTIFUL OCEAN BACKDROP CEREMONY IN ISLAMORADA
Brooke & Hunter exchanged vows during an intimate waterfront ceremony. The natural beauty of the oceanfront setting created the perfect ceremony backdrop, requiring very little beyond soft fabric draping the grand tree altar and elegant ceremony seating finished with ivory satin bows lining the aisle.
Following the ceremony, guests transitioned to the tiki bar for cocktail hour before enjoying an elegant buffet-style dinner beneath glowing market lights and tropical palms.
Congratulations, Brooke and Hunter — here’s to a lifetime filled with love, adventure, and unforgettable memories together.
