Choosing the right theme is one of the first—and most exciting—steps in planning your baby shower.
Whether the parents-to-be prefer a timeless, elegant event or maybe something a bit more bold and unique - the right theme brings everything together by guiding the decor, setting the mood, and making the shower feel intentional and personalized.
As a South Florida based event planner, I’ve been approached with many different themes, but here are 5 of my favorite baby shower themes to get you started—each customizable, stylish, and guaranteed to photograph beautifully.

Garden Bloom
The perfect floral baby shower theme? Springtime, of course! The Garden Bloom baby shower theme is perfect for a springtime shower and parents-to-be welcoming a new baby girl. This theme can feature party details including:
Invitations: Welcome a new little one with an adorable invitation that you can send via email, text message, or a customized shareable link that can be posted to the family group chat. My favorite Paperless Post invitation for this theme has to be the Linen Garden.
Decor: Consider incorporating white or blush linens for guest tables and delicate pastel blooms in the mom-to-be’s favorite colors or floral preferences. When it comes to florals, less is more - bud vases or basket arrangements offer a subtle touch without overwhelming the space.
Venue/Location: Think a lush backyard at a private residence, or a boutique hotel that offers a semi-private garden space.
Food/Beverage: For a Garden Bloom-themed baby shower, I recommend a fresh tea service (to give it that high-tea garden party vibe) or brunch mocktails alongside light bites. Consider offering a fresh fruit salad platter, assorted pastries, and custom cookies or wildflower cakesicles.

2. Boho Neutral
This theme is highly requested for showers, gender reveals and even bridal showers. For gender reveals, this neutral palette naturally builds anticipation as guests wait to discover the baby’s gender. You can incorporate floor seating for a cozy, boho vibe or opt for traditional seating to ensure all guests are comfortable. Key design elements include layered textures, soft earth tones, and relaxed, inviting details.
Invitations: I absolutely recommend the As Above or the Pretty Pampas invitation for your boho themed baby shower.
Decor: For this theme, use texture to decorate. Think feathers, pampas grass, rattan, rust and opt for beige or ivory accents to maintain consistency throughout the overall theme.
Venue/Location: This theme is easily complemented by a pool or private beach setting.
Food/Beverage: Keep it simple with elevated finger foods. Consider a grazing table or mini charcuterie cups along with tiered sweet treats like macaroons or cheesecake cups.

3. Little Wild One
This theme offers an elevated take on the safari baby shower. Key design elements include:
Invitations: I recommend the Safari Party from Paperless Post or the Safari Dreams from Minted.
Decor: This is one of those themes that speak for itself. For an elevated experience, consider incorporating some greenery-heavy floral centerpieces for guest tables, wooden signage, gold or bamboo accents for the welcome and treat tables and soft plush animals as added decor - think zebras, monkeys, elephants, etc. Your focal point could be a massive safari themed garland with animal inflatables or a rainforest greenery accent wall.
Venue/Location: For a modern and elevated safari themed baby shower, I recommend a blank canvas venue that can be easily decorated in black and white with pops of greenery.
Food/Beverage: Keep the theme going by serving up some Mini “Safari Sliders” – beef or veggie patties with mini brioche buns, skewered with leaf-topped picks. For sweet treats and desserts, think cupcakes with fondant leaves and/or jungle animal toppers.
4. We Can Bearly Wait!
A classic for a good reason, “We Can Bearly Wait” is a gender-neutral baby shower theme that blends soft charm with playful elements. It’s especially popular for gender reveals or early baby showers when the baby's sex is still a surprise.
Invitations: Play on the phrase with delicate illustrations of bears, bees, or forest trees. Neutral color palettes with pops of beige, cream, and sage also keep things modern and luxe. A few of my favorites are the Warm Bear Hugs and the Hot Air Balloon Bear from Paperless Post and the Antique Teddy Bear from Minted - if your design is a more on the vintage/rustic side.
Decor: Welcome your friends and the parents-to-be with a neutral or gender-specific balloon garland with plush teddy bear accents. You may also consider teddy bear centerpieces for guest tables and offering mini jars of honey and dippers or beeswax candles as favors.
Venue/Location: Rustic-style venues, cafés and country club ballrooms make this baby shower theme ideal.
Food/Beverage: A “We Can Bearly Wait” themed baby shower provides the perfect opportunity to offer themed sugar cookies in soft pink or blue and a milk & cookie bar with “bear claws” (mini pastries).

5. Here Comes The Son
This sunny, bright, and joy-filled theme is perfect for celebrating a baby boy—but can also be styled neutrally with just the right palette and by changing the phrase "son" to "sun".
Invitations: Custom illustrations of smiling suns, clouds, or sunshine rays with a soft watercolor style. Playful fonts and cheerful phrases like “You are my sunshine” or “Shining our love on Baby Boy.”
Decor: Think golden yellows, muted oranges, and touches of ivory for an even balance. This theme works especially well in outdoor spaces or sunlit venues. You can even opt for a more neutral design and let your guest tables do all the talking with yellow floral centerpieces - think sunflowers, ranunculus, tulips and billy balls.
Venue/Location: For a Here Comes The Son baby shower theme, I’d have to recommend spaces that offer the natural warmth of sunlight. Consider gardens, outdoor patios, rooftop venues, beachfront terrace or a modern greenhouse or conservatory for this special occasion.
Food/Beverage: Indulge in decadent food offerings to complement the event’s theme. Try a menu consisting of mini breakfast bites like quiche or waffle skewers, lemon bars, and fresh fruit skewers with pineapple, melon, and starfruit. You may also consider adding a “Sunrise” mocktail bar with mango + orange blends and non-alcholic sparkling wine.
